What is Food Plus?

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) “Food Plus” is a food program to promote better nutrition in seniors.

Why is it needed?

The program helps seniors who do not have the household income they need to ensure good nutrition.

Foods such as the following are typically included:

  • Cheese
  • Peanut Butter
  • Beans
  • Juice
  • Canned Meat
  • Canned Fruits and Vegetables
  • Rice or Potatoes
  • Dry or Evaporated Milk
  • Cereal

Who is eligible?

Persons 60 years of age or older who meet the following financial eligibility guidelines.

2 $1,681
3 $2,116
For each additional person, add: $436
Rates effective April 1, 2013

Is there a cost?

No, there is no cost to participants.

The mission of the CSFP Food Plus Program is to distribute nutritious foods and provide nutrition education to low-income seniors.
